The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will kick off wheelchair basketball action with an exciting all-European matchup, as Great Britain faces Germany in the men’s Group A match on 29 August at 10:30 CEST.
The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) and Paris 2024 organizers have unveiled the full competition schedule for wheelchair basketball, running from 29 August to 8 September. The event will be hosted at the iconic Bercy Arena in Paris, where eight men’s and eight women’s national teams will battle for the coveted Paralympic medals.
Both the men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball tournaments at Paris 2024 will start on 29 August, just a day after the Opening Ceremony. The men’s opener will see Great Britain take on Germany at 10:30 CEST, while the women’s competition kicks off at 12:45 with another European clash, as Great Britain faces Spain in Group A.
The pool stage for both tournaments will run until 2 September, followed by knockout matches beginning on 3 September. The competition format features a round-robin phase within each group, progressing to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and culminating in the finals. The men’s final will take place on 7 September, followed by the women’s final on 8 September.
